With the still ongoing virus just evolving every month having a go-to cleaning method to keep your home clean should be practiced regularly. Most virus particles tend to linger on surfaces so putting the effort to clean it would help you big time. And the bathroom is no stranger to it should be given priority.

To avoid overloading you with information and thinking cleaning are too much of a task, we will start with cleaning your bathroom first and how you should be disinfecting it. Some people have made a system to clean their bathroom weekly, however, this method use to be good before the pandemic but now, disinfecting should be added to your daily chores just to be safe.

To get you started on what to do, here are various cleaning methods you can add to your daily chores:

You can never go wrong with using this forever standard of cleaning in your bathroom. Be sure to check the detergent if it has cleaning agent properties that will help disinfect your bathroom. This mixture can be used to wipe off viruses from the following:

  • Knobs and handles for doors, windows, drawers, and cabinets
  • Sinks and taps
  • Switches and push buttons
  • Bidet
  • Toilet surface (note use a separate cloth for this area of the bathroom)

2. Scrub Your Floors and Keep it Dry

Bathroom floors if left wet and unclean can build up mould or that yellowish icky slime that can cause tripping and falling. Always have a ready brush or a rough floor scrub to avoid the accumulation of mould. Then, keep it dry by removing the hair/gunk blockage and drain water smoothly. If you still have the energy, you should also mop dry your floors.

3. Use Disinfectant Gel and Bleach to Sanitise Bathroom Fixture

If you are not relieved with using detergent and water mixture, you can give disinfectant gel and bleach a try to thoroughly sanitise your bathroom fixtures.

Follow the instructions on the disinfectant gel on how best to use it then apply it on surfaces like door handles, shelves, and bathroom cupboards.

Disinfectant gels are also a good cleaning tool to keep the inside of your toilet clean and sanitised. Just be sure to avoid disinfectant that is too strong which will leave your bathroom fixture with permanent discoloration or damages.

4. Improve Better Ventilation in the Bathroom

Some viruses are known to be air-born and keeping your bathroom closed all the time should be avoided. Remove damp and ventilate your bathroom air by investing in a bathroom exhaust fan or just keeping the door or window open whenever possible.

5. Invest in Quality Disinfectant Sprays

If the above cleaning tasks are too much for you, you can always give spray and wipe a try. Choose hospital grade disinfectant sprays to fully clean your bathroom surfaces then wipe them dry with a clean cloth.

After all that cleaning, don’t forget to wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds to fully remove unwanted bacteria. If your hands happen to look clean, just sanitise them with a 60% alcohol sanitiser gel.
